Eurovision Week: Party Food

By 2:24 PM , ,

Any good Eurovision party, would not be a Eurovision party if you didn't sample cuisine from around Europe (and Australia!). I would have to say that my culinary palette doesn't stretch the imagination, so when it came to today's post, I spent a good two hours on Google on Sunday trying to come up with food for the different countries (thankfully near dinner as it made me very hungry). I won't lie, I even googled the UK and I live in it.

When it comes to the food for the party, you could split the countries between guests and get them to bring something from each of the countries or the ones you are supporting. Then to present it, rather than buying any fancy party plates, simply buy plain one and multi coloured napkins, then dress the plates with the napkins that match the countries flag.

What you'll notice about the food is that in certain regions, each country has there own version of the same dish. I came across some lovely looking dishes that I can't wait to try, including the Maltese Pastizzi, Hungaries Dobas Cake and San Marino's Torte Tre Monti.

Below is an easy copy list of the countries and the food from them. Blame Google if any of them are not right and feel free to correct me in the comments. But I hope you find something that takes your fancy. And being a non drinker, I could not help you one bit on drink apart from the good old British cup of tea and a pint of Irish Guinness. But the fab people over at Mission Eurovision who got in touch yesterday on twitter with some pre made bingo cards (go check them out), have a great list of drinks and some more ideas for food.
